The Supervision Room
Professional Clinical Supervision & AI Enhanced PracticeDAPAANZ Clinical Supervisor | SWRB Registered Social Worker | 20+ Years' Clinical ExperienceI’m Debbie Malligan – a registered social worker, DAPAANZ clinical supervisor, and experienced clinician with more than 20 years working across addiction, mental health, corrections, community and crisis services.
My approach to supervision is thoughtful, grounded, practical and collaborative, supporting reflection, professional development and safety in practice.
I provide a place where practitioners can talk openly about their work, think through complex situations and challenges, and gain support to navigate the complexities of clinical practice.
About Me
My background includes work across addiction, mental health, corrections, residential treatment, crisis support and community services. I currently work in frontline clinical practice, alongside people experiencing complex mental health and addiction challenges and within multidisciplinary health teams. That experience shapes my supervision style. I understand the realities of clinical work, including complexity, risk, boundaries, ethical decisions and the pressures of working within health and social service systems. My approach is trauma informed, strengths-based and practical. I value honest conversations, curiosity and reflection, while keeping supervision grounded in the realities of your day to day work.I also have a strong interest in the ethical use of AI in health and clinical practice. If this is something you’re interested in exploring, we can include it in supervision, with a focus on safety, professional judgement and human connection.
